the author's viewpoint is objective and neutral. his opinions are convincing. For example, he argues that Japanese politicians did not understand the change of international rule after World War 1. Britain became weak and instead the US got power. Moreover, diplomacy is done in League of Nations instead of bilateral talk. Japan was reckless enough to leave Legue of Nations in 1933. Kobayashi, the author, points out the poor diplomatic power of Japanese politicians once and now.
