英語を母語とせずそれでいて子供のころから文法に偏った勉強をしたがゆえに、主語と述語をはっきりさせようとする英語になりがちである。
それは決して間違えでないのだがどこかぎこちなく、対して英語ネイティブの何気ない日常会話はもっとシンプルでスマートに表現していると、イギリスで生活する中でよく実感する。(我が子らの英語を聞いているとつくづく羨ましい…)
200近い場面を想定して、日本人が使いそうな英語と母語話者ならこう使う英語とを比較してくれた良書。たった3語で表現することでより自然な英語となる。
