The defeat in World War 2 was the first experience for Japan, and the many drastic measures conducted during period of occupation have no doubt changed Japanese society to a considerable degree. One image is that education is a path way for cultivating ecological global citizens. Global awareness requires not only that we see ourselves as earthlings and human but as participants in many complex converants of life that local communities ecologies governments and federation whose scope reaches from the region to globe.
