It is a compilation of autobiographies of the 2nd generation of Zainichi Korean. As noted by the editors, it is noteworthy that their parents have similar backgrounds that aboji was brutal and drunken, and omoni worked well to grow them up. Also, we can understand politico-social problems occurred around Zainichi have been truly of the generation. It is a little bit difficult for us of this century to imagine how severe conditions there were and how harsh the discrimination was. This book is recommended for all of you that have interests in Japanese society in the late 20th century.
