I’ve read the original and traditional Chinese translation (by Ti Chin) but not Japanese yet thus this review last year was based on the translation, and now pinned here as a mark reminding me of my further studies of this chaotic fiction:

ULYSSES, eventually finished!
From 11/01 to 12/22 when the mysterious as well as the warmest midwinter paid me a visit. The longest nighty night now also suits M.B.’s murmurs flowing through the last chapter.
Tonikaku, I'II continue the miscellaneous notes till the end of 2023 with Abe's monograph, Ellmann's biography of J.J., Friedman's essays on SOC and the most significant one -- A simplified Chinese translation by Ch'ien Hsiao and Chieh-jo Wen, since this traditional Chinese ver by Ti Chin is a little pale both for its style and notes.
Wish a blooming Christmas and new year coming, for you and me.
Maybe I'II rakugaki some comments on this novel esp for chpt 15 (as long as my schedule be set free...) (But until now no time to review… — noted 24/03)

** Chinamini, now(24/03/08) my further studies (mainly the additional notes) have reached chpt.14, which is pitifully not included in this translation by Mr Yanase’s; but I’ve heard that his monograph of this book named ‘Voyage of Ulysses’(ユリーシズ航海記) finishes the translation of remaining chapters. Consequently I’ll read them as complements as soon as possible!!!

三話目？まで読んだ。難しい、読み辛い…。けど、人の意識の流れ、スティーブンの考えること、置かれている状況が見えてくるのが少し面白いかも。
アイルランドのジョイス博物館？に以前行ったので、風景を思い出しながら、読んでみる…。
もう少し読み続ける。
