＊ただ知覚(perception)のみ。
＊知覚は、印象(impression)と観念(idea)の2種類。
＊印象：感覚、情念など、現実性がありいきいきしている。本源的。
＊観念：思考や推理において知覚される印象の淡いイメージ。派生的。
＊印象は、記憶や想像力によって観念化される。
＊観念は、類似性(resemblance)、連続性(contiguity)、因果性(causation)という連想の法則のもとに結合されて判断を成立する。

But setting aside some metaphysicians of this kind, I may venture to affirm of the rest of man kind, that they are nothing but a bundle or collection of differnt percieptions, which succeed each other with an inconceivable rapidity, and are in a perpetual flux and movement.
